A Grocery Shop for Clean Eating

Hey hey hey!

Time to talk food.  I haven't shared a grocery shop in a while because I know it gets repetitive each week, but this week is a little different.  I was inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow's book, It's All Good (see yesterday's post).  I went into the store wanting to buy gluten-free foods and I think I accomplished that.  At least at the moment I can't think of anything that's not gluten-free.  As I mentioned, her book really focuses on clean eating and this is something I strive for.

This list supplements what we already had at home.  Also, it incorporates some non-vegan items for my husband.  Ready for some pretty pictures?

I hardly ever eat yogurt so I just had to try those new Almond Dream ones.

I plan on doing some juicing this week as well.  We have some greens from our garden to mix in.

I'm giving coconut water another try and hoping I like this flavor more.  There is a smoothie that calls for it in Gwyneth's book and I know it's so good for hydration with running.  My husband loves those Kind Bars.  They are like a healthy candy bar.  And that Miso Ginger dressing was sooo good on our salads last night.

It wasn't all this healthy - we finished off our wedding cake after this salad.  Healthy dinner and wonderful dessert!

So that's my grocery shop for this week.  I'll post recipes as I try them.

What's your favorite item from my list?  Did you grocery shop this weekend?

  1. I've found that coconut water in smoothies is incredible.. I too am not fan of it by itself.

  2. I actually really love coconut water, but I think I've only really bought coconut water drinks and not plain coconut water (there's one that's coconut water blended with wheat grass, surprisingly amazing!). I'm pretty jealous of your almond dream yogurt. The only nondairy yogurts I can find at my grocery store are made with soy and only in vanilla flavor.

    1. Sadly the yogurt was not very good. Maybe a different flavor would have been better. Coconut water and wheat grass sounds awesome!

  3. Thanks for the shout out on your last post. I love that cookbook. Such a great place to get ideas and menus for the week. I've been pondering do her cleanse week. I'm not a fan of coconut water, I've tried tons of it and still don't like it! I wish I did.

I made my bf take me to Costco to stock up on things. I love that I can buy almond milk in bulk there! I also bought some saffron. I have been meaning to test it out to see if its worth the $.
