Sunwarrior Protein Powder

I ordered Sunwarrior protein powder from Amazon after reading about it numerous times at Lisa Lately as well as a few others, and then doing some research of my own.  The sunwarrior website provided a lot of great information and essentially convinced me to give their protein powder a try.  I spent $39 on Amazon (large upfront cost) but that's 47 servings.  I don't think that's too bad.

As the weather gets warmer, I crave shakes more.  Especially after running in the morning, they are perfect to get me going for the day!

Sunwarrior contains no animal products, dairy, egg, gluten, soy, added sugar, wheat, or yeast - so Sunwarrior is vegan, gluten-free and soy-free.  I think that's fantastic.  I've been using brown rice protein powder lately and I'm not crazy about it.  The Sunwarrior protein powder just contains so much more goodness.  I took the below information from their website (click here!) in order to show you the awesomeness I discovered.  I bought the natural blend, but there is also vanilla and chocolate available (sweetened with stevia).

Here's my recipe for a post run shake:

1 cup vanilla almond milk
1 scoop Sunwarrior powder
1 banana
1 tbsp. peanut butter
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 tbsp. chia seeds

On Wednesday, I made a shake after running with Jax (don't dogs just make amazing running buddies?! The enthusiasm is out of control!)  I used unsweetened almond milk and I did not enjoy the shake too much, but I drank it anyway because I wanted the nutrition and hate being wasteful.  There was absolutely no sweetness (which some might like) but I guess my sweet tooth enjoys a little something in the morning.  I think next time (47 servings from now), I'll get the chocolate powder instead.  For now I think I'll just use vanilla almond milk rather than unsweetened.

Thursday morning, I was searching for a new morning shake recipe and found that sunwarrior provides a few of their own at their website

Here's a spin on their Dreamside shakeIt's my new favorite. The flavor is just sparkling and fantastic.

The Winner

1 cup vanilla almond milk
1 scoop Sunwarrior powder (or powder of your choice)
1 whole, peeled orange
1 banana (or 1/2)
1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 tsp. brown rice syrup (if you like a little extra sweet like me)

Have you tried this protein powder?  If not, would you?  What kind of protein powder do you use?

  2. Great post! I've heard so much about Sunwarrior protein powder but have yet to try it myself. I have tried brown rice protein powder, from GNC I think, but didn't care for it much either. I'll definitely have to give Sunwarrior a try soon! :-)

  4. I've never used a protein powder, I count out my protein once in a while and I get plenty, but I do love the idea of a super nutritious shake!
