Happy Friday & Run Chat Two

Hi there!

Once again it's a wonderful Friday.  I stepped outside onto my back deck this morning to let the dogs out and there was literally ZERO humidity.  It felt glorious!!!  I am truly appreciating the lack of humidity now that I feel like I've been dripping in it the last few weeks.  I'm even more excited for my long run (13.1) over the weekend!

Last night my husband and I scrounged up whatever we could find to make dinner.  Hubby had organic white cheddar Mac & Cheese with a veggie burger cut up in it.  I had a massive salad with a veggie dog along side.  For not having any food in the house, I think we did pretty good.  Oh and then I made a batch of no bake cookies, basically finishing off the last of the maple syrup and oats in the house.

Yum!  Click here for that fantastic recipe =)  Here they are just chilling in the freezer waiting to be eaten!  We then proceeded to watch the movie Warm Bodies.  I thought it was cute.  Nothing amazing, but enjoyable.  Have you seen it?

Onto the running quote of the day.  This one is from Dean Karnazes, ultra runner.  I think he is so awesome.  If you haven't read any of his books, pick one up this summer.  I think they are really inspirational.  Also, I am absolutely intrigued by ultra running.  I have dreams of running a 50K race or 50 miler someday...

Running is about finding your inner peace,
and so is a life well lived.

I really don't think I could say it any better than this quote and I couldn't agree more.

10 miles yesterday morning...all about inner peace.  I love early morning runs because the world is quiet, passing other runners on the street is just further motivation, and I love going to work having gotten in a run.  My mind is calm and ready for the day...

I hope you have a spectacular weekend.  Talk to you Monday!

What are you up to this weekend?  How was your week?

  1. I've recently started running more in the morning and I am loving it. I find I am able to hold onto the sense of peace and calmness at least until lunchtime ;)

No big plans for the weekend. Was out of town the last two so am looking forward to an eventless weekend at home. Maybe a farmer's market visit or a bike ride!

  2. Must start running in the morning! I used to do it and loved it, but the "snooze" button is sooo very nice ;-) Good luck on the 13 miles!

  3. Before I became sidelined from running, I would always fun in the morning. Such a great way to wake you up, and start your day off on the right track! :) Hope you had a lovely weekend, Em!

  4. I'm not sure how you do 10 miles on a weekday morning! That is definitely my weekend run. I was supposed to do a 10 miler this weekend but it was so hot I only got in 8.5, I figured that was good enough :) Hope you had a great weekend.

  5. Love the quote. My skating is definitely about finding my inner peace. If I had the same sense of peace in the rest of my life I'd definitely have it made!
