14 Weeks - Hello Second Trimester!

I wrote this post of February 11, 2014 - 14 Weeks Today

...

I’m so excited to be into the second trimester!

My next appointment is less than a week away and I can’t wait.  I want to hear our baby’s heartbeat and see how I’m progressing.  I’m slightly showing.  I swear when I’m laying down on my back that I can feel a little bulge on my lower stomach region.  There is a tiny bump when I’m wearing a tight shirt.  I have been rocking over-sized sweaters and dresses to work.  And I’m definitely no longer wearing my pencil skirts to work.  I did wear a few of my normal work pants last week and they fit, but I just didn’t feel comfortable in them.  I’m living in leggings.

I definitely feel my energy returning.  I’m still tired by 9PM at night, but getting up at 6:30AM isn’t too bad.  Once I’m up, I feel like I have plenty of energy to get through the day.  And I told my husband I had my first Chipotle craving yesterday.  I haven’t craved Chipotle in weeks and the thought of a burrito actually sounded really good again.  We are a Chipotle family, so this is thrilling.  I’m making a point to try to eat more fruits and veggies now too.  In the beginning, I felt like I was consuming all cereal, bagels, toast, crackers, etc., but now food is sounding pretty fantastic all around.

I still haven’t run though!  I can honestly say that’s because of the weather.  We seem to accumulate another couple of inches of snow each day and running conditions are just not safe.  I wear my clunky winter boots out with the dogs when we walk, but sneakers would get drenched in this weather.  Maybe clearer weather is on the way though and I can get in a run soon.

My skin has cleared up a bit too.  Still some acne on the forehead, but at this point I’m just going to embrace it.  I can handle it just fine.  My hair seemed extra shiny today too.  Not sure if that’s from pregnancy though.

I still gets the aches on my lower abdomen here and there.  Nothing really painful though.  Just a friendly reminder that my midsection is growing to accommodate the little one growing inside me.

I plan on sharing the baby news after my doctor’s appointment next week on the blog.  I can’t wait to share with you!

  1. I heard that hair gets fantastic and thick and shiny during pregnancy, mostly from the vitamins and hormones. I just had Chipotle today (one finally opened within an hour drive from me!) and it's sooo good -- hope you gave in to your craving!
