Pregnancy Journey - 18 Weeks (and lots of vegan yums!)

Hey there!

18 weeks - woohoo!  This last week has been filled with lots of vegan food deliciousness, creating a baby registry at Babies "R" Us, and getting a new haircut!  It was nice to be back at work after getting over that cold that took me out.  I'm feeling much better.  Here are some highlights from the last week...

Total Weight Gain:  My next appointment is in 2 weeks so I'll find out for sure then.  As of about a week ago, it was close to 7 pounds.

My Body:  Totally changing before my eyes and I'm loving it.  I still keep wanting to feel the baby move and I think I have a few times, but I'm still not sure.

These black maternity jeans can totally pass for work pants.  Getting ready for work at 18 weeks!  High heels will complete the outfit.

Maternity Clothes:  Yes!  Well mostly pants.  The maternity tank tops are wonderful.  I'm never going back to regular ones.  I love the pants from Destination Maternity (Jessica Simpson brand).  They are super cute and perfect for work.  Also, I was given a pair of maternity jeans from someone at work and they are just crazy comfortable.  Basically lived in them all weekend.

Cravings:  Food in general has been pretty fantastic this week.  My appetite comes and goes though.  I've noticed that I will often feel crazy hungry and then once I eat a little, I'm full.  The best moment was probably our Friday night discovery that the Chipotle by us now has tofu as an option (sofritas it's called) = heaven!  It was ridiculously good.  I will for sure be getting it every time now.  Other eats from the week:  Amy's veggie pizza with mixed greens, sweet potato fries, Tofurky club, overnight oats, monster salad.  My biggest craving this week has been salads!

Sleep:  Some great sleep and a few nights of a bit less.  There were two nights (one being last night) when I was up from 2-4AM for no reason other than I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep.  I wake up mid dream so I remember my dreams really clearly.  Both times my dog, Jax, has been involved.  I think I'm dreaming about being a Mom and he's my only comparison so far!  Those nights of less sleep made the next workday a bit tiring, but really overall it's been a pretty good week of sleep.

Best Moment(s) this Week:  Going to Babies "R" Us and registering.  There is so much wonderful stuff there.  Initially I was just going to register at Target, but some friends convinced me that Babies "R" Us was a must and I'm so happy they did.  I'm very excited about the jogger stroller I tested out!

Then my husband and I had a date at Cheesecake Factory.  I got a massive salad because I asked for no chicken, so they doubled the veggies.  Monster size.  And of course sweet potato fries on the side.

Another happy thing is that the products I ordered from The Honest Company arrived - plant-based, vegan, nontoxic, green...just happy stuff.  Check out the website!  Now I can feel extra good about doing the dishes, cleaning the bathroom, showering...you know all those things that can involved a lot of chemicals, but don't need to!  I really like the dish soap.  Dishes seem to be never ending in our house and I feel much better using this soap.  Also, the shampoo and conditioner is great on my hair.

I woke up Sunday morning and just decided time for something new!  Meaning time for a haircut.  I have not cut my hair this short in close to two years.  It felt fantastic.  Also, I've made the decision I'm not going to highlight my hair at all throughout my pregnancy, so going all natural.  This will be interesting... I haven't highlighted since October.

It was pretty wonderful getting a new haircut.  I just couldn't take my long hair anymore.

And then there was that vegan breakfast sausage for Sunday morning breakfast that was so tasty...

Goals:  Exercise more!  I plan to run come warmer weather, but for now power walking with the pups is great.  I want to get outside more before work this week.

That pretty much sums it up.  Hope you have a great rest of your week!

  1. I love your hair! You will have less time for it anyways once that baby arrives! Do you know what kind of tofu Chipolte serves? I'm always afraid of not haveing organic tofu. My body reacts strange to anything with soy in it.
