Juice Beauty Collection

Good morning!  Here's a little of what my yesterday looked like...
Leftover lentil stew with fresh kale thrown in, coconut chips (like candy, OMG!) to get me through a Monday, fruit for dessert at night, a cleaner kitchen at home, and I used my new Juice Beauty Collection of makeup by Alicia Silverstone when getting ready for work!

So you've gotten to know me a bit over the last few months.  I talk a lot about food, running, lattes, my family, and now I want to talk about something completely new to my blog, but something super fun (in my opinion!) - makeup!

When I was a little girl I loved watching the older girls at my babysitter's put on makeup and do their hair.  I couldn't wait for the day that I could do that too.  I suffered from horrible (or what felt like absolutely horrible) acne during middle school.  Thank goodness by the time 9th grade rolled around, my acne faded away (due to the medication I was on back then).  My skin is pretty good now, but even at 26 I still get blemishes here and there - no fun!

I do the dress up and makeup thing for work during the week at the office and go much more casual on the weekend.  That being said, I was thinking recently that since I care so much about what I put in my body, it only makes sense to take a little care with what I put on my body; like lotion, powder, blush, mascara, etc.

I don't wear a lot of makeup, but powder, blush, lip color and mascara are all a part of my Monday through Friday routine.

I ordered the Juice Beauty Collection and it arrived last week.  I first heard of the Juice Beauty Collection here.  And then I proceeded to buy a collection of my own here!  It was a definite splurge for me, but I'm so happy I bought the collection.  It includes each of the following items.  I've detailed what I think of each item for you below.

The Benefits

The collection is certified organic, vegan, and filled with antioxidants
Packaging uses over 90% recycled materials as well!

Simply Pure Chamomile Cleanser - I have sensitive skin and this cleanser feels great on my face.  It's not harsh and my skin actually felt better after using it.  It has that awakening type of feeling.  It also took off my mascara as well.  I love the smell of it too.

Simply Nourishing Moisturizer - After putting it on my face, my skin felt soft without that greasy feeling.  Again, smells great.

Purely Kissable Lip Color - Great color.  However, I have a pale complexion and it worked very nicely with my skin tone.  I could see it working for other skin tones as well though.

Irresistible Glow Facial Highlighter - A pretty pink that made my cheeks look healthy and happy.  A healthy happy glow!

Simply Flawless Pressed Powder - A little dark for my winter skin tone, but still looks nice.  I can see it working even better as I get a little sun in the summer.

That's my beauty talk.  I'm going to continue to use the Juice Beauty Collection and I'll keep you posted.

What makeup do you use?  Anything you love and would recommend?

  1. Is that a picture of your kitchen up there? It's layed out almost identical to mine :) My window is a little smaller and I have an additional cupboard to the right, but other than that -- identical!

I'm always looking for new make up! I have ridiculously pale skin and it seems that all light shades have a pink or yellow hue to them: I have neither. My skin is basically just see through! You look pretty fair skinned too, so I'll have to check Juice Beauty out and hopefully I'll find a winner!

  2. I used to wear a lot more make-up than I do now. Mainly a lot of colorful eye shadow. I wear MAC make-up. My favorite item is their prep and prime. It makes my skin look and feel great.

  3. These products sound fabulous, and that cleanser sounds like it has a fabulous but not overwhelming scent.

  4. I have not yet embraced make up wearing but I DO take very good care of my skin! I use a line called Jafra and it feels so good (and smells so good)! The stuff you use sounds great!

  7. Those coconut chips look delicious. I always hated coconut... until I lived in the caribbean for 2 years for med school. I used to cut down a coconut with my machete every single day. Coconut water is an incredible source of electrolytes, its like mother nature's gatorade. I'd have one after every run too! I wish I could cut down fresh coconut up here in the northeast! But maybe those coconut chips will suffice, where did you get them?

    1. That's so awesome! Cutting down your own coconut. Jealous! I need to try coconut water I've heard such good things. Especially after running! I'm silly and I ordered the coconut chips online just to give them a try...they are deliciously sweet and a fun snack, but I'm sure do not compare to the real thing!
