Happy Almost Our Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband!

This is our first wedding Anniversary (well August 5th is) and I can't believe how one year has flown by.  A lot of big things happened in the last year.  You guys have gotten to know me over the last 8 months as I've blogged and I would love to share my wedding day with you and you know I love pictures so I'll be including a lot of those!

We were married on that Sunday at 11:00 o'clock in the town where I grew up at a hotel just minutes from my parents house.  We had rehearsal for an outdoor wedding the day before, but you know Mother Nature.  It was sunny that Sunday morning, but the winds warned of a storm.

My Dad and I stood outside at 7 0'clock going back and forth deciding whether we should take the ceremony inside and ultimately we decided that was the best decision.  And I'm so glad we did!

As I walked down the aisle and met the love of my life the sky turned black and then it began to downpour.  The hotel did an amazing job taking the ceremony inside.  It was an intimate and beautiful 30 minute ceremony where my best friend (MOH) and brother (Best Man) did readings and the Reverend spoke of how we met and the significance of sunflowers.

Sunflowers were a big part of our ceremony because we both love them.  I carried a bouquet with sunflowers sprinkled in.  They represent faith in each other, hope for the future, and unconditional love.  They were the first gift we gave to each other as husband and wife.

Now Mother Nature was kind because after our ceremony we went outside with the photographer for a while and took lots of pictures in the sun!  And then it stormed again as the reception went on.  Talk about timing.

Our song is "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Ingrid Michaelson.  I'll remember that dance for the rest of my life.  I love the line take my hand, take my whole life too...my darling so it goes, some things are meant to be...

My wedding day was perfect in everyway and I feel so blessed.  And of course most of all because of the man I married.  Our wedding day was also our 2 year anniversary of being together and truly I knew I wanted to marry my husband the day I met him.

There's so much thought, love, patience, determination, kindness, excitement, and planning that goes into a wedding.  We planned the wedding for a little over a year with the generous help of family and it turned out magically. (Below is an engagement photo from Summer 2011)

I want to dedicate this post to my husband - my best friend and partner for life.  Thank you for all you do for me each day and inspiring me to be all I can be.  I love you always & forever.

Have a great weekend everyone!  I'll catch up with you in a few days =)

  2. Awesome story ... just hit upon your blog from another running blog, and honestly there is nothing better than wedding stories, IMO.

My wife and I celebrate 21 years at the end of next week and I still remember so many wonderful details, and every year it is fun looking at pictures and video and just sharing the moments.

We couldn't believe that it was ~50F at noon in August in upstate NY! Cold, drizzly and miserable. But like you, while we were indoors getting married and doing pictures, the sun came out, the temp went up, and suddenly it was a gorgeous afternoon for a party! :)

Thanks for sharing and congratulation to you and your husband!
