My Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake

Hey there!

Last Saturday we were quite low on food in the house.  By the end of the week our refrigerator is always quite barren and I was trying to figure out what to do for breakfast.  I started out with toast, but that was enough to keep me full for about an hour.  We were getting on the road and I needed something to keep me full until lunch.  Enter my Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake!

I basically used whatever sounded good from the cupboards/refrigerator to create this and it turned out so tasty.  No protein powder is required which I liked.

Into the blender:

1 cup vanilla almond milk
1/4 cup oats (I used old fashioned oats)
1 tbsp. chia seeds
1 tbsp. ground flax seed
1 tbsp. peanut butter
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 banana
handful of ice cubes

Variation:  This morning I was out of oats, so I used a full banana and a handful of spinach instead.  Tasted just as good and got some greens in there.

Into the 25th week!  That baby is growing!

This shake was filling and nutritious.  I will definitely be making it again!

What's in your favorite shake?

  1. Ah look at your beautiful belly!!! I'm just getting warmed up with shakes. So far I haven't deviated from blueberry, but I love peanut butter so I'm sure I would love this!

    1. Thanks Davida! I'm strange and I only like blueberries when cooked into baked goods. I'll be sticking with peanut butter haha!
